Thank you for your interest in our Flight School.
Our Training School is based in South Africa’s Eastern Lowveld area. We are so much more than “Just a training facility”. We are innovative aviation professionals who are passionate about our field, and it is our mission to share that passion with you under the most stringent safety and compliance conditions, drawing from our long history. Above all, we enjoy sharing the love of flight and the benefits of becoming a pilot with others, from beginner’s level to Commercial-level certification. Our facilities at the Club promote a sense of community, a spot to relax and enjoy a chat with fellow flyers, or view the apron over a coffee or two. Camaraderie with your flying community is important for sharing of information and encouragement in your journey with us so we try to accommodate this in our environment. We will guide you with professional training skills, build your confidence levels carefully and ensure that your safety is paramount at all times.
Broad “menu” of Training Aircraft
We have one Cessna 150 (C150) in service. This little aeroplane is often underestimated but it is a proven trainer. The C150 is a two-seater, equipped with Continental O-200 engine with 100Hp. The model has proven itself in the industry for over 50 years – it so popular that all most everyone started training on C150. We also have two Cessna 172s (C172). This is the most produce general aviation aircraft with 440000+ aircraft built. In addition, there is one Cessna 172RG which is a C210 C172 cross which (180Hp), and one Cessna 182 which is great for transferring to bigger fixed gear aircraft, and one Beechcraft Baron 58. Please feel free to pop in at our training school to meet our team and check out our facilities.
What Ratings can I get?
From PPL to CPL including Instrument Flying (IF), Night, Instructor Rating and specific Type Ratings, we can give you the best platform to start your career. What does the PPL Program consist of? The program entails 45 hours minimum flight time as well as seven SACAA exams & various tests during the flight training course. The program can be custom made to suit your needs and finances. We cover all flight exercises as well and equip you with all necessary books and materials to self-study on the academic side. We can also arrange for one-on-one tuition if required for exam preparation. All training takes place one-on-one so you can progress at your own pace, it is advisable to complete at least three training sessions per week to develop a comfortable pace. (We have had students who fly full time and achieve the licenses in as little as six weeks- and others who train in between their busy schedules and take more than a year to complete their training). All this is dependent on how much time you can commit to the course.
What are the requirements to start training?
Requirements for participating are purely being over the age of 17 and achieving a flight medical (we can arrange an appointment for you with a local doctor, authorized by SACAA).
How do I start Training?
To start your training, we suggest booking an Introduction flight with us. (The flying time will be logged toward your PPL training) and it will be a memorable event in your life. The introduction flight will consist of a briefing with the instructor and a flight. You will be encouraged to take controls under supervision and this will give you a feel of what your training will be about. To book an introduction flight or if you want to simply come and meet the team, please phone our
